Online Safety

The internet is a fantastic place for children to learn, create and have fun, but they may occasionally have to deal with a variety of sometimes challenging issues.

There are positive things you can do to equip yourself and your child, and support them in resolving any issue they may face.

Learn about it

Familiarise yourself with the issue your child may be facing or that you are concerned about.

Talk about it

Have positive conversations about specific issues; keeping the dialogue honest and open.

Deal with it

Deal with the issue.

As many of our children use smartphones and tablets and are able to easily download apps, we thought it would be a good idea to provide some information about the different types of apps that your child may be using and some of the associated risks to be aware of.  Please have a look through document to familiarise yourself with some of the more popular apps.

Please access our monthly e-safety bulletins here.

We encourage you to engage with these regularly. The bulletins are a great way of supporting your child to remain safe online when accessing the internet at home.

Staff at Bickerton are here to support with any online safety concerns you may have.
