Computing
The overall aim of the computing curriculum at Bickerton Primary School is to equip our pupils with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in a digital world. We aim to develop their enquiring minds by immersing them in lessons that encourage computational thinking, problem solving and digital literacy, whilst promoting a responsible and safe approach to the use of technology. Our intention is underpinned by the belief that computing education should empower students to become active, lifelong learners and creators in the digital age. Our computing curriculum and teaching has links with mathematics, science, music, art, PSHE and design and technology, and our approach is to provide a broad and balanced curriculum while ensuring that pupils become digitally literate and digitally resilient. Technology is constantly evolving, and we aim to develop students who can use and express themselves, develop their ideas through information and communication technology at a level appropriate for the future workplace and as active participants in a digital world.
